2022 Honda CR-V compact SUV benchmark for excellence

Honda CRV is an old-fashioned compact SUV model of the joint venture brand. Dongfeng Honda introduced Honda CR-V in April 2004. This is a best-selling classic model that has built a new and unique series of SUVs in North America, Asia, Europe and other parts of the world. It is sold in more than 160 countries and regions around the world.

In terms of appearance, the replacement Honda CRV adopts a brand-new design language, which is younger and more dynamic than the current model. On the front face, it can be clearly seen that the headlights have become narrower and longer, and the headlight group and the grille form an extended whole, which enhances the layering of the front of the car.

On the side of the body, the most obvious change from the current model is the installation position of the rearview mirror. In the past, the rearview mirror of CRV was installed on the A-pillar, while the rearview mirror mount is placed on the door of the new CRV. At the rear of the model, the shape of the lamp group is the same as the current model in the symmetrical double L design language, but the details inside the lamp group have undergone some changes and become more three-dimensional. In terms of interior, the interior of the new Honda CR-V is highly similar to that of the Civic. The floating screen, the honeycomb-shaped through air outlet of the air conditioner and the multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel are all our "old friends". I think it can be innovated. In terms of materials, it is a bright silver trim with slush soft materials.

In terms of power, there are three versions of two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and hybrid. The fuel model is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 193 horsepower and a peak torque of 243 Nm. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions are available. Optional, the hybrid version uses a 2.0L fourth-generation dual-motor hybrid system with a maximum output of 207 horsepower and a peak torque of 335 Nm.

Every 2022 CR-V comes standard with the "Honda Sensing" suite of accident avoidance technology, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and a driver inattention monitor. Blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warnings are standard on the EX trim level, and higher adaptive cruise control is standard on all trims, and is actually a superior system than the ones found in the Honda Passport and Pilot. That said, it's not as smart or responsive as a Mazda CX-5 or a Hyundai Tucson.

The CR-V received the government's highest five-star crash rating for overall, frontal and side impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named it a Top Safety Pick for its most likely score for collision protection and prevention. Its headlights give it different points depending on the trim level. The Touring earned a "Good" rating for its LED lights, while the Hybrid EX and EX-L received an "Acceptable" rating, and non-Touring gasoline models received a "Marginal" rating.
